Duncan Rudkin

General Pharmaceutical Council

Duncan Rudkin was appointed by the Privy Council as the founding chief executive and registrar of the GPhC and has been with the organisation since its inception in 2010. Prior to that Duncan had worked in General Dental Council for a number of years, including a period as chief executive there. His original professional background was as a commercial solicitor.

Janet Morrison OBE

Community Pharmacy England

Janet Morrison joined Community Pharmacy England as CEO in March 2022. Community Pharmacy England promotes and supports all NHS community pharmacies in England and negotiates with DHSC and NHSE&I on their behalf on the contractual framework and related policy and regulatory issues.

Janet is an experienced leader in the public and not-for-profit sectors, working on strategy, national policy influencing and campaigning including in health and social care. She has held a number of other senior strategy and policy roles in public bodies and the BBC as well as several non-exec Chair roles.

Joanne Redding

Director, Supplier Relationships

IQVIA

As a registered Pharmacist Jo has over 25 years’ experience working within the world of Community Pharmacy.

Prior to joining IQVIA she worked for national and regional pharmacy groups in various management and training roles

Currently responsible for developing and supporting partnerships with Retail Pharmacies, GP’s, hospitals and across the pharmaceutical supply chain to secure access to high quality healthcare data, through the provision of insightful solutions and services.

Mark Hopkins

Hopkins Pharmacy

Mark specialises in sports medicine and rehab and has forged strong professional connections with Orthopaedic Surgeons physios and top sports teams over 25 years.

In the last three years Mark introduced microcurrent and electrotherapy treating 600+ patients, including VIPs from sports and entertainment. Hopwoods Pharmacy provides NHS and private services like NuroKor Pain Clinic, IP prescribing, travel and weight loss clinic, Thuasne medical brace fitting, joint injections, phlebotomy and Equipod’s equine rehab service.

Mark is a sports enthusiast into golf, tennis, and skiing he recently partially automated dispensing during COVID and plans further automation for the ETP rollout in Wales.

Michael Holden

Associate Director

Pharmacy Complete

Michael has worked in and for community pharmacy for over 40 years including running his own pharmacy group. In 2005 he became the Chief Officer of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Local Pharmaceutical Committee where many innovations in pharmacy services began including Health Living Pharmacy initiative. Michael was appointed as the Chief Executive of the National Pharmacy Association in 2011.

In 2016 co-founded Pharmacy Complete working with community pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry clients. He continues to practice as a pharmacist.

Michael is an active advocate of an expanded role for the profession in health and wellbeing and speaks at national and international conferences. Michael was honoured as a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in March 2011 and became a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health in 2017.

Michael Lennox

Michael brings over 30 years of leadership and operational expertise to the pharmacy and broader healthcare sectors, both regionally and nationally. Currently holding key roles such as Chief Executive Officer for the Somerset Local Pharmaceutical Committee and Local Integration Manager for the National Pharmacy Association, he also operates as a Change Management Consultant. As a qualified pharmacist, Michael possesses a detailed understanding of community pharmacy, the NHS, and healthcare product and service development and delivery, enabling him to drive transformative initiatives and enhance healthcare outcomes.

Patrick Gompels

Co-owner

Gompels Limited

Patrick Gompels, co-owner of Gompels Limited, runs a third-generation family business with two community and two warehouse pharmacies. Holding an IT and Technical Solutions degree, he oversees daily operations and leads an in-house software team. This team focuses on creating innovative solutions to improve pharmacy operations and patient services. Under Patrick’s leadership, Gompels was awarded Pharmacy Business of the Year in October 2023.

Reena Barai

S G Barai Pharmacy

Reena Barai has run her family’s Pharmacy S G Barai Pharmacy in Sutton, Surrey for the last 20 years. She is a passionate and committed advocate of Community Pharmacy. She also is currently the co-chair of her local NHS Integrated Neighbourhood Team, a trustee of a charity that supports older people and the co-founder of the Female Pharmacy Leaders Network. She is a former member of the NPA’s board and the CPE committee.

Saam Ali

Saam Ali is a pioneer in the digital healthcare space with over 18 years of expertise. He broke new ground by spearheading some of the UK’s first Travel, Hair Loss, and ED clinics within community pharmacy.

Yet, his last 10 years have been a metamorphosis: from a pharmacist to a digital marketing guru and web developer.

Acting as the CEO, Pharmacy Mentor has helped 1000’s of pharmacies through improved digital marketing and building better online ecosystems.

Shailesh Solanki

Shailesh R Solanki is Executive Editor of Asian Media Group, (AMG), Britain’s biggest Asian publishing house.

Shailesh graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Economics from University College, London and has over 30 years’ experience in consumer and business journalism.

He has chronicled the progress of the Asian community in the group’s various publications which include Pharmacy Business Eastern Eye newspaper, Garavi Gujarat newsweekly, Asian Trader, The Asian Rich List and GG2 Power List.

Shailesh is responsible for the editorial direction of the group’s titles, the group’s events division and its US business which is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
